As the head of the company, Kirit now serves as a mentor who takes a hands-off role in guiding the different companies. Since the 70s, when he took over for his father, Kirit’s round-the-world trips continue to give the Group a global focus and attitude. Even today he actively searches out new projects. His detail-oriented approach and decades of experience give him a competitive edge in the fine-tuning of existing work processes. The Chairman’s focus on the bottom line ensures sustainability and maximizes profits for all the companies.

Nishita Shah
WIT – Whatever it Takes

With a dynamic personality, Nishita Shah is the new face of the Group. A passion for business coupled with her high energy and spirit, she motivates and inspires team members to reach new heights. Nishita studied Business Administration at the Boston University School of Management. She is also an instrument rated pilot and enjoys sailing. Since joining in 2002 she has represented the Shah family business interest by serving as a director on various boards ranging from shipping and mining to pharmaceuticals and aviation. Her love for fashion and luxury has inspired her latest business venture “Nsha,” positioned as a high-end fashion label. As a leader of the group’s CSR initiatives, Nishita is actively involved with the altruistic GP Foundation.

Anju Shah
Poised and charming, Anju oversees the travel and hospitality division of the group. Her meticulous attention to detail and time-management skills have seen her serve in a variety of capacities over her 30-plus years with the Group. She started her career on the trading floor, learning from her husband Kirit and her father-in-law, Chimanlal. Her passion for perfection and dedication to excellence raise the overall standard for everyone at the Group.

Khalid Hashim
Managing Director, Precious Shipping PCL.

With a Master’s Degree in Management Studies, specializing in Finance from the University of Bombay, Khalid brings a wealth of shipping experience to the job.  Asia Money in their December 2008 issue conferred on Khalid the titles of Best Executive, Thailand and Best Investor Relations Officer, Thailand. Khalid has been elected to the Board of the Swedish Club, a 135-year-old Marine Mutual Insurance company since 1996 and has been the chairman of their Finance and Audit Committee since the following year.  In 2007, Khalid was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Swedish Club. Khalid also serves as a member of the Austral-Asia Regional Committee of the Bureau Veritas and the South East Asia Committee of American Bureau of Shipping.

Munir Hashim
Executive Director, Precious Shipping PCL.

More than 25 years experience on the high seas of the shipping trade has put Munir in a prime position in the industry.  He parlayed an academic background in Marketing with a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Bombay into becoming the Head of Commercial Operations, Maldives Shipping Limited, from 1981 to 1985.  He has also been elected as director of the UK Defence Club and has been on the Board since 1999.

Jaipal Mansukhani
Executive Director, Precious Shipping PCL

After graduating as a Cadet in the Directorate of Marine Engineering Training, India, Jaipal launched his career as a Marine Engineer in 1971.  In Scindia Steam Navigation Ltd, he rose through the ranks over the next 16 years before joining Precious Shipping. He is also a Member of the Regional Technical Committees for the American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.

Executive Director, Precious Shipping PCL. 

Khushroo fine-tuned his background in science and accounting by completing the Directors Certificate Program from the Thai Institute of Directors.  After a short stint with KPMG’s associate firm in India, he has occupied many positions in high finance within the group, such as Director (Finance & Accounts) for the Maxwin Group of Companies from 1994 to 1999 and Vice President (Finance & Administration) of Suretex Limited in a dual role from 1997 to 1998.  He has been with Precious Shipping since 1999.

Managing Director, Linaria Chemical (Thailand) Ltd.

As a Chartered Accountant with a Master’s Degree in Commerce (Gold Medalist), Ramesh has 25 years of industrial and cross-cultural experience.  He is particularly well-experienced in the field of financial restructuring, cost control with quality focused aspects of business, as well as managing projects and the commercial aspects of business. Working with the GP Group for the last 15 years in a senior management position, he also heads the group’s API manufacturing business.

CEO/Cheif Coach, Mega Lifesciences Public Company Ltd.

Since 1986, Vivek has been the CEO/Chief Coach of the burgeoning and multi-faceted Group. Starting out at Medicap as an engineer, he played a pivotal part in the company’s dramatic development.  Combining his passions for managing, marketing and teaching, he inspires his staff to become life-long students.  An avid reader, Vivek is only too happy to share his vast knowledge with his colleagues.

Director, Premthai International Ltd. 

A veteran in the GP Group, this graduate of Thammasat University (an Economics Major in Banking and Finance), Niran joined the Group in 1982. He is known for being meticulous, loyal and keeping all of his colleagues best interests in mind. As a conduit for all of the Group’s documents, Niran is indispensable. Before joining Premthai, he worked for three years in marketing with Raylam Battery Inc (Thailand) and for seven years in Banking Trade Finance with the Head Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Bank.

Managing Director, Premthai International Ltd.

Shirish is a Chartered and Cost Accountant from India. Since joining the group in 1995, he has carried out various functions in accounts, finance and trading. Renowned as a team player with a flexible, easy-going personality, he has proven himself adaptable to the Group’s broad spectrum of business interests.

Vice President-Projects, Maxwin Builders Ltd.

Well-liked for his congenial nature and ability to multi-task, Lalit has a BE (Mechanical) and MBA degrees. More than 20 years of experience has cemented his present position in the company.  Over these two decades he has successfully handled major projects like the Amari Atrium Hotel, Serviced Apartments, Condominiums and Factory Development works. Part of his responsibilities includes managing the group’s air-conditioning business.


Lalit Mathur

Managing Director, Premthai Energy Ltd. 

After graduating with a Master of Business Administration from Bangkok’s Assumption University with a MAGNA CUM LAUDE in Finance & Banking from the same institution, the Managing Director has amassed considerable experience working with Phoenix Commodities as an Assistant Trader and as the Trading Manager of the GP Group of Companies (Rice & Minerals Division).  As one of the group’s youngest managing directors, who handles the coal distribution business, his nickname, “Sunny,” reflects his bright and optimistic demeanor.

Somsiri Achwarin
Manager, Ambika Tour Agency Ltd.

None of the agency’s customers ever forget Somsiri’s sweet and friendly voice on the phone and her expert advice in getting their travel and business plans off the ground. Altogether she has more than 30 years in the airline industry, with Air India (12 years in Ticketing/Reservations) and with Delta Airlines (six years in Ticketing/Reservations, as well as sales and marketing). She joined Ambika Tour Agency more than a decade ago.

Managing Director, Sila Eastern Ltd.

Soumen joined as the Managing Director of Sila Eastern Ltd., a joint venture of Tata Steel, India, and the GP group, on August 1st 2008. Training as a chemical technologist with a special management programme from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, he has been posted to Mumbai, Jakarta and Seoul since beginning work in 1992.


Soumen Bose

Steve Bell 
Managing Director, InsurExcellence Insurance Brokers Ltd.

Steve’s calm nature and three decades in senior management positions for insurance companies in Europe and Asia allows him to break down complicated insurance policies for clients.  He has worked for companies such as AXA, PPP, Norwich Union (AVIVA) and CIGNA International, specializing in the provision of employee benefits and expatriate medical insurance for corporate clients.

Vice President–Hospitality, GP Group.

An experienced and dynamic hospitality professional with more than 18 years in the industry, he knows how to focus on leadership, creativity and profit generation. Sanjog’s career started in 1991 at the famous Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.  Creative thinking and networking skills have always been his forte.  Prior to joining the GP Group in 2008, this Cornell graduate spent 12 years as Executive Assistant Manager at the Amari Atrium Hotel in Bangkok.

 

 


Sanjog Modgil

Shiraz Poonevala
Director-Investments, GP Group.

Shiraz has recently joined GP Group to oversee and monitor all its investment activities. His sense of humor and compassionate demeanor made him a natural choice to head up the newly formed Family Office, where he looks after investments for the Shah Family.  Other qualities, like his ability to prioritize and put systems in place, have been valuable assets throughout his two decades of investment and corporate banking in leading financial service organizations.  In his last position, he was the Investment Banking head of Seamico Securities Plc.  Before that, he joined HSBC in Thailand during the peak of the Asian financial crisis with a focus on restructuring and remedying distressed debt within the corporate bank.

Srinuch joined GP Group in the year 2004. She has been a calculated risk taker by thoroughly considering decisions and taking action to overcome the challenges faced in logistics industry. She has an aggressive yet positive and constructive mind set towards addressing challenges to deliver optimal business outcomes.  Holding Master's Degree in Marketing & Management from College of Management Mahidol University (International Program), she has a great personality which provides remarkable energy and passion to her professional work.
