Tsunami Project in Southern Thailand

Tsunami Project in Southern Thailand

When the Asian Tsunami of 2004--considered the deadliest Tsunami in recorded history--devastated southern Thailand, many local communities suffered unspeakable tragedies.  In one fishing village in Ranong province, almost a quarter of the populace lost their lives during the cataclysm on December 26 that year.  To make things worse, many of the Muslim fishermen of Ban Talaynok lost their livelihoods.

That’s when the GP Group’s Precious Shipping Public Company Limited came to the rescue.  Putting its sea-going savvy to the test, their floating staff bailed out the fishermen with donations of more than US$20,000 to repair their boats.
